I‘ve spent the last few decades of my life in a vicious cycle of restrictive diets and beating myself up for not being able to follow them. I have an extensive background in nutrition training, but I could never figure out why I wasn’t actually DOING all the things that I knew would lead to freedom from the obsession.
If I was so smart, why couldn’t I lose the weight? If I wasn’t over eating, I was over drinking. If I wasn’t over drinking I was over shopping…it was a crazy, never ending cycle! I am now free from the insane cravings and mental chatter for the FIRST time in my life…and let me tell you, it’s AMAZING! .
I've always been a "big girl". I remember being aware of my size from a very young age, I was always at least a foot taller than everyone and I remember being teased relentlessly when I hit 100 pounds in 4th grade. At 19 I decided to become a model...talk about pressure to be thin! For the next few decades I fought against my body, trying every eating plan in existence. I thought there was something terribly wrong with me.
I started studying nutrition, thinking that I could figure it out and somehow find the food that would make me skinny. I tried all the things, and went to some extremes to finally be thin. I lost 100's of pounds and gained it all back...every single time! Last year I heard a word that caught my attention… Buffering!
I realized that I was over eating, over drinking, and over shopping in order not to FEEL!
The magic started happening when I learned how to use my brain for me, not against me.
During this process I have lost 50 pounds, COMPLETELY changed my relationship with food and alcohol, and learned to love & respect myself on a level I never even knew existed!
